Freedom (to be anything, do anything)

Buddha said that all life is suffering. His solution was to escape the endless cycle of life. And yet still be alive. How is that possible?

What is this universe anyway?

On another page I show how the universe arises from nothing. Because nothing leads to numbers...

...and numbers lead to patterns...

...and patterns lead to theoretical physics...

..and theoretical physics leads to the universe we know...

(Picture: NASA)

... which leads to everything we see and experience.

(Picture: )

And sometimes that feels just fine.

(Picture: Pixabay)

But sometimes it doesn't. And you wish your life was different.

(Picture: Pixabay)

The good news is, there must be infinite universes.

(Picture: Fractal Bargain Bin)

Every imaginable universe exists. Outside this universe is not empty, but infinitely full.

(Picture: NASA)

So it includes every imaginable version of yourself.

Can you step into a different universe? Yes, you do it all the time. Time is just different universes. See these pictures: the rider is different in each one. He is not exactly the same rider. And if the future is not fixed then the rider has chosen from different universes.

(Picture: Geraint Otis Warlow)

The key truth is that time does not flow. It only seems to flow because our mind sees its smooth shape. Our future only seems close because our body is part of the same four dimensional shape. But our mind is different. Our mind is ideas. It need not be restricted by our body.

(Picture: 123rf.com)

Our mind can see different, far off shapes. So our mind can occupy different far off universes. For example, when we read.

(Picture: Wikimedia)

And more than that: a person who is long dead can transfer their mind into yours.

(Picture: Wikimedia)

So, by just thinking, we pass our mind into a better future...

...or fulfil the dreams of the past.

We can learn to disconnect from the present.

(Picture: Pixabay)

And only connect to better worlds.

(Picture: Pixabay)

Of course, if your mind disconnects from this world then your body may not survive in it. But so what? Your mind is elsewhere, remember.

(Picture: based on "When Worlds Collide" by Jeremy Atkinson, Flickr)

And there are infinite versions of you, remember.

(Picture: NASA)

So the idea that "you" are at risk is an illusion, based on not seeing beyond this world.
